This Clement World opens tonight at The Theatre Centre and runs for five days only. It’s a unique and daring piece of theatre that examines the incredibly important issue of climate change. This week, as Toronto limps painfully through it’s second #PolarVortex of the winter, a show such as This Clement World seems timely, important and destined to challenge our beliefs about how we interact with the world around us.
The show examines our rapidly changing environment by looking through the prism of Cynthia Hopkins’ lens. It uses a cross-disciplinary style that includes a 15-piece chorus and band as well as footage Hopkins took on an Arctic expedition with Cape Farewell.
Climate change is something we are all going to have to deal with at one point or another, and it is gaining momentum in mainstream media. More people are looking inward and considering what they can do, both big and small, to help heal our world for the generations that are going to come after us.
Here is a unique opportunity to learn more about our global environment, as well as enjoy an exciting and different evening at the theatre. All you have to do is tweet “I want to win two tickets to @TheatreCentre’s THIS CLEMENT WORLD from @broadwaybabyto“ and link to this post.
The winners will be selected at random and announced the morning of Jan 30th. Winners will get 2 (two) tickets to the 8pm performance on Jan 30th at The Theatre Centre.
