Last week it was announced that Dan Chameroy would be stepping into the lead role of ‘Bobby’ in the much anticipated Theatre 20 production of COMPANY. Today the rest of the cast was finally unveiled, with some exciting surprises.
Perhaps most interesting is the inclusion of film and television actor (and Canuck) Nia Vardalos of My Big Fat Greek Wedding fame in the role of Jenny. Vardalos is known for her comedic chops and leading lady status in Hollywood, and comes back to Canada to take a stab at musical theatre and Sondheim.
She’s in very good ‘company’… First Lady of Canadian Musical Theatre (and Theatre 20 Founding Artist) Louise Pitre will play Joanne, and Brent Carver finally returns to the Toronto stage in the role of Harry.
Rounding out the cast is a mix of Founding Artists and Canadian musical theatre heavyweights, Christine Donato as Kathy, Founding Artist David Keeley as Peter, Jeff Lillico as Paul, Joe Matheson as Larry, Marisa McIntyre as April, Founding Artist Nora McLellan as Sarah, , Founding Artist Eliza-Jane Scott as Susan, Founding Artist Carly Street as Amy, and Founding Artist Steven Sutcliffe David.
Company is shaping up to be a ‘can’t-miss’ show of the Toronto musical theatre season, so make sure to grab your tickets early and celebrate Bobby’s birthday with Theatre 20!
Tickets for Company go on sale to the general public on Monday April 14th, 2014 and range from $30-$89. Tickets can be purchased by phone at 416-368-3110 or atwww.canadianstage.com
